中共中央總書(shū)記、國(guó)家主席、中央軍委主席習(xí)近平3月4日下午看望了參加全國(guó)政協(xié)十三屆二次會(huì)議的文化藝術(shù)界、社會(huì)科學(xué)界委員，并參加聯(lián)組會(huì)，聽(tīng)取意見(jiàn)和建議。習(xí)近平在聽(tīng)取大家發(fā)言后發(fā)表講話。

President Xi Jinping on Monday called on writers, artists and theorists to strengthen cultural confidence, serve the people with fine works, and guide the public with high moral standards.
習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，文學(xué)家、藝術(shù)家、理論家要堅(jiān)定文化自信、以精品奉獻(xiàn)人民、用明德引領(lǐng)風(fēng)尚。

"A country, or a nation, cannot be devoid of soul," Xi said, adding that the mission of workers in culture, literature, art and philosophy and social sciences is to nurture the root and soul of the nation.
習(xí)近平指出，一個(gè)國(guó)家、一個(gè)民族不能沒(méi)有靈魂。文化文藝工作、哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)工作就屬于培根鑄魂的工作。

習(xí)近平指出，要堅(jiān)持以人民為中心。人民是創(chuàng)作的源頭活水。

Cultural, literary and artistic workers should participate in practices, carefully observe people's lives and express people's aspirations, Xi said.
文化文藝工作者要走進(jìn)實(shí)踐深處，觀照人民生活，表達(dá)人民心聲。

He also required philosophy and social sciences workers to conduct more field surveys and research to gain knowledge of people's living conditions.
哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)工作者要多到實(shí)地調(diào)查研究，了解百姓生活狀況。

Xi stressed providing the people with quality products, saying that all valuable and meaningful literary and artistic works and academic research should reflect reality and be conducive to solving real problems and answering real questions.
習(xí)近平強(qiáng)調(diào)，要堅(jiān)持以精品奉獻(xiàn)人民。一切有價(jià)值、有意義的文藝創(chuàng)作和學(xué)術(shù)研究，都應(yīng)該反映現(xiàn)實(shí)，都應(yīng)該有利于解決現(xiàn)實(shí)問(wèn)題、回答現(xiàn)實(shí)課題。

All practitioners in culture, literature, art, philosophy and social sciences shoulder the important tasks of enlightening thoughts, nurturing sentiments and warming hearts, Xi said, asking them to set an example for society with lofty aspirations, good morals and noble sentiments.
文化文藝工作者、哲學(xué)社會(huì)科學(xué)工作者都肩負(fù)著啟迪思想、陶冶情操、溫潤(rùn)心靈的重要職責(zé)，大家理應(yīng)以高遠(yuǎn)志向、良好品德、高尚情操為社會(huì)作出表率。

As this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xi called on the attendees to profoundly reflect the struggles and practice of the Party and the people over the past 70 years.
