從V.T.校園槍擊案想到的

美國史上最嚴重的校園槍擊案引起了全世界的震驚，連一向不對公眾新聞發言表態的英國伊麗莎白女王二世也發表了公開講話。讓我們來第一時間看看美國的幾個主要官方媒體的報道，請注意幾個重要描述。

注：loner——獨來獨往的人
Authorities say they initially believed the dorm shooting was an "isolated incident" and were still investigating it when theslaughteroccurred at Norris Hall.
注：slaughter——屠殺
美國的媒體普遍把這次校園槍擊事件形容為“屠殺”。當然，句中的slaughter特指“發生在諾里斯教學大樓里的亂槍掃射”（案發者在宿舍樓前擊斃兩人后，又趕往工程系教學樓行兇）。此外，“massacre”也常用來形容“屠殺”。
"He seemed verythoroughabout it, getting almost everyone down, I pretended to be dead." 注：thorough的一個意思是“徹底的”，而在這里表示“縝密、周密”。
