Like many countries around the world, Austria struggles with a pay gap between its men and women. But women have the same access to education and job opportunities as men, Austria's ambassador to China, Irene Giner-Reichl, said. The country has also implemented gender budgeting, which requires officials at all levels to explicitly show how budget decisions will benefit women, the ambassador said. "Women have come a long way in Austria," she said, "but they still have some distance to go."

奧地利駐華大使艾琳娜博士在接受中國日報網獨家專訪時說，正如世界上許多的國家一樣，奧地利也存在著男女之間薪酬分配不公的現象。但是奧地利女性享有和男性完全等同的接受教育和就業的機會。目前，奧地利還通過了一項立法，就是在制定預算時，需要特別標明這項預算將如何惠及女性。她表示，奧地利女性已經取得了很大的成就，但仍然需要繼續前行。
