習近平表示，你們鄉黨委來信說，去年獨龍族實現了整族脫貧，鄉親們日子越過越好。得知這個消息，我很高興，向你們表示衷心的祝賀！

"Letting the people of all ethnic groups have a good life has been my aspiration as well as our common goal," he wrote.
習近平指出，讓各族群眾都過上好日子，是我一直以來的心愿，也是我們共同奮斗的目標。

新中國成立后，獨龍族告別了刀耕火種的原始生活。進入新時代，獨龍族擺脫了長期存在的貧困狀況。

"This vividly demonstrates that people's dream to live a happy life will surely come true with the strong leadership of the Party and the concerted efforts of the broad masses of the people," Xi said.
這生動說明，有黨的堅強領導，有廣大人民群眾的團結奮斗，人民追求幸福生活的夢想一定能夠實現。

"Poverty eradication is only the first step, better days are yet to come," he noted in the letter.

The Dulong, one of China's smallest ethnic groups, live along the deep gorges of the Dulongjiang River in Yunnan. This area was listed as one of the least developed regions in the country.
獨龍族是我國人口較少民族之一，主要聚居在云南省貢山縣獨龍江鄉。當地一直是云南乃至全國最為貧窮的地區之一。

The six administrative villages in Dulongjiang Township eradicated poverty as a whole last year.
2018年，獨龍江鄉6個行政村整體脫貧。
