近日，中國駐英國、比利時等國使館宣布暫停在這些國家人員持目前有效中國簽證及工作類、私人事務(wù)類和團(tuán)聚類居留許可入境中國（suspension of entry into China for foreign nationals holding valid visas or residence permits）。

對此，外交部發(fā)言人汪文斌在例行發(fā)布會上回應(yīng)表示：

The notices issued by the Chinese embassies in the relevant countries have made it clear that this is a temporary response necessitated by the current situation of COVID-19.
中國駐有關(guān)國家使館發(fā)布的通知，已經(jīng)明確說明，這是中方為應(yīng)對當(dāng)前疫情，不得已采取的臨時性措施。

【單詞講解】

這里的necessitate是necessary的動詞形式，根據(jù)不同的語境可以表示make necessary（使...變得必要）或者force（迫使）等意思，比如：Business was growing, which necessitated the hiring of additional employees.（生意越來越好，需要多雇點人手了）。
