With nearly 1.6 million 5G base stations, China now owns the largest 5G network worldwide, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Tuesday. Zhang Yunming, vice-minister of the ministry, said China has the world's largest mobile broadband and optical fiber network, and the network quality has reached or even surpassed the levels of developed countries. Zhang said 5G has been applied to a wide range of sectors including transportation, medical care, education, culture and tourism, and the industrial internet has been applied in 45 categories of the national economy. The remarks were made at a forum held to celebrate World Telecommunications Day, which was Tuesday.
5月17日，工信部副部長張云明在2022年世界電信和信息社會日大會上表示，目前我國建成5G基站近160萬個，已建成全球規模最大的移動寬帶和光纖網絡，網絡質量達到甚至優于世界發達國家水平。目前5G應用涵蓋交通、醫療、教育、文旅等諸多生活領域。工業互聯網已應用于45個國民經濟大類。

All 16 districts in Shanghai have recorded zero COVID-19 community transmissions outside quarantine areas, said Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Shanghai Health Commission, at a press conference Tuesday.
5月17日召開的上海市新冠肺炎疫情防控新聞發布會上，上海市衛生健康委副主任趙丹丹表示，上海全市16個區都已實現社會面清零。

To promote a safe and steady resumption of production amid pandemic prevention and control, Shanghai set up a coordination mechanism for major projects, said Zhu Jianhao, deputy director of the Shanghai housing and urban-rural development committee. The first batch of 16 projects have resumed work, and eight are preparing to follow suit, Zhu said.
上海市住房城鄉建設管理委副主任朱劍豪介紹，為統籌疫情防控和安全穩定復工復產，本市建立了市級重大工程復工復產協調機制，首批納入“白名單”的24個重大工程項目中，16個項目已實現復工，還有8個項目正在進行復工準備。

>China brings 581km of new rail lines into service in first 4 months
前4月全國鐵路開通新線581公里

China put 581 kilometers of new railway lines into service in the first four months of the year, including 358km of high-speed railway, data from the China State Railway Group showed. The country saw 157.46 billion yuan in fixed asset railway investment during the period, up 0.6 percent year on year, according to the group.
來自中國國家鐵路集團有限公司（以下簡稱國鐵集團）的消息，今年1月至4月，全國鐵路累計完成固定資產投資1574.6億元，同比增長0.6%，已開通新線581公里，其中高鐵358公里。

>McDonald's confirms it will exit Russia
麥當勞宣布退出俄羅斯

American fast-food giant McDonald's will exit the Russian market and sell its business, the company said Monday in a statement.
當地時間5月16日，美國餐飲連鎖公司麥當勞宣布，該公司最終決定退出俄羅斯市場并出售其業務。

McDonald's said it is looking to sell its restaurants to a local buyer and would not allow the stores to use its name, logo, branding or menu, retaining its trademark in Russia. McDonald's in March closed all of its restaurants in the country.
麥當勞在聲明中稱，該公司“正在尋求將其在俄羅斯的全部麥當勞餐廳一同出售給當地買家”，并補充說，盡管該公司將繼續在俄羅斯保留商標，但現有門店將不再使用麥當勞的名稱、標識、品牌和菜單。

The company said it would ensure its 62,000 employees in Russia continue to be paid until the close of any transaction.

Starbucks and Coca-Cola have also paused operations in Russia.
