看了美劇《Lie to me》嗎？那里面的Lightman集團就是通過研究人的面部表情來判斷他們是否在說謊，而這個判斷過程中很重要的依據就是microexpression（微表情）。
A microexpression is a brief, involuntary facial expression shown on the face of humans when one is trying to conceal or repress an emotion. They usually occur in high stakes situations, where people have something to lose or gain.
微表情是人在試圖隱藏或者控制某種情緒時不自覺地表現出來、且持續時間很短的一種面部表情。微表情通常會在人們經歷得失、情勢危急的時候出現。
Unlike regular facial expressions, few can fake a microexpression. They consist of and completely resemble the seven universal emotions: disgust, anger, fear, sadness, happiness, surprise, and contempt. Microexpressions can occur as fast as 1/25 of a second.
跟普通的面部表情不同的是，微表情很少能夠裝出來。微表情能夠完全反映出人類共有的厭惡、憤怒、恐懼、悲傷、幸福、驚訝以及輕蔑這七種情緒特征。微表情能在1/25秒內一閃而過。
