過節送購物卡，過生日送紅包，紀念日再送個消費貴賓卡......我們都說禮物是代表一個人的心意，那么總是用購物卡和紅包作為禮物是不是代表心意還不夠足呢？

Blank present are the present that has no thought behind it. This usually comes in the form of gift cards & money. The person who give these as presents often do not know what the reciever likes, and simply gives them the "choice" to get "whatever they want".
“空洞禮物”指沒有任何想法或創意的禮物，通常是以購物卡或者現金的形式送出。送出這一類禮物的人多半是不清楚收禮物人的喜好，所以就干脆讓他們“想買什么就買點什么”。

For example:

Best Buy, Target, and Kohls gift cards, and $100.... man, all I got this year were blank presents.
百思買的購物卡、塔吉特的購物卡、科爾士的購物卡，還有100美金，我今年得到的全是“空洞禮物”啊。
