Let China-Arab Friendship Surge Forward like the Nile

“埃及是尼羅河的饋贈(zèng)。”

"Egypt is the gift of the Nile."

16年前，我第一次訪問(wèn)埃及時(shí)，實(shí)地看到古代埃及人民把周期泛濫的洪水轉(zhuǎn)化為農(nóng)業(yè)發(fā)展的重要資源，體會(huì)到尼羅河是孕育埃及文明的母親河，也由衷贊美埃及人民智慧和力量。

When I first visited Egypt 16 years ago, I learned how people of ancient Egypt harnessed the Nile floods for agricultural production. I marveled at the Nile, mother of the Egyptian civilization, and was amazed by the wisdom and strength of the Egyptian people.

從那以后，壯美的尼羅河就深深印在了我的腦海里。

Ever since then, the great Nile has been etched in my mind.

古代埃及人這樣贊美尼羅河：“你從大地涌出，奔流不息。”

In a hymn to the Nile, ancient Egyptians sang:" Hail to thee, O Nile, who manifests thyself over this land."

文章開(kāi)篇，習(xí)近平就對(duì)此次訪問(wèn)提出了這樣的期待：我將同埃及和阿拉伯朋友共敘友情、共商合作、共話發(fā)展，期待此訪成為一次友誼之旅、合作之旅、共贏之旅。

The purpose is to renew friendship, and discuss cooperation and development with Egyptian and Arab friends. I look forward to a trip of friendship, cooperation and mutual benefit.

習(xí)近平在文章中，這樣談到中埃關(guān)系的歷史：

中國(guó)和埃及同為文明古國(guó)，兩國(guó)人民友好交往追溯久遠(yuǎn)。 Both China and Egypt are ancient civilization. Friendly exchanges between our peoples date back to antiquity.

近代以來(lái)，中埃兩國(guó)人民在反殖民、反霸權(quán)的斗爭(zhēng)中同聲相應(yīng)、同氣相求。

In the modern times, the people of China and Egypt have stood together in the fight against colonialism and hegemony.

在一個(gè)甲子的歲月里，中埃關(guān)系歷經(jīng)國(guó)際和地區(qū)風(fēng)云變幻考驗(yàn)，始終健康穩(wěn)步發(fā)展。

Over the past six decades, China-Egypt relations have stood the test of changing international and regional landscapes and have moved forward steadily.

中埃關(guān)系：中阿關(guān)系的起點(diǎn)

中方將從戰(zhàn)略高度和長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)角度看待和發(fā)展對(duì)埃關(guān)系。

China will continue to view and develop its relations with Egypt from a strategic and long-term perspective.

埃及是第一個(gè)同中國(guó)建交的阿拉伯國(guó)家，中埃關(guān)系是中國(guó)同阿拉伯國(guó)家關(guān)系的起點(diǎn)，代表了中阿關(guān)系的高度和溫度。

Egypt was the first Arab country to establish diplomatic ties with China. China's relations with Egypt marked the beginning of its relations with Arab countries and are indicative of the height and warmth of China-Arab relations.

中阿關(guān)系：朋友多了路好走

60年來(lái)，中阿關(guān)系全面發(fā)展、碩果累累。中國(guó)—阿拉伯國(guó)家集體合作也走過(guò)11個(gè)春秋。

In the past six decades, China-Arab relations have achieved comprehensive development and yielded fruitful results. The collective cooperation between China and Arab countries has been going on for 11 years.

中阿關(guān)系呈現(xiàn)蓬勃生機(jī)。

China-Arab relations are now thriving.

阿拉伯諺語(yǔ)說(shuō)“獨(dú)行快，眾行遠(yuǎn)”，中國(guó)人常講“朋友多了路好走”。這用來(lái)形容中阿雙方結(jié)伴前行、風(fēng)雨同行再恰當(dāng)不過(guò)了。

As an Arab proverb says, "he who travels alone goes fast, but he who travels in company goes far." The Chinese people say that "more friends make the journey easier". Indeed, there are no better expressions to describe China and Arab countries that have been with each other all the time and shared weal and woe all along.

現(xiàn)在，中國(guó)和阿拉伯國(guó)家都處于各自發(fā)展的關(guān)鍵階段。

China and Arab countries are both at a crucial stage of development.

中阿合作四點(diǎn)主張：惠及雙方更多普通民眾

——中阿要做自主發(fā)展道路的實(shí)踐者。世上沒(méi)有包治百病的萬(wàn)能靈藥，也沒(méi)有普世皆準(zhǔn)的發(fā)展模式。

China and Arab countries need to pursue independent paths of development. There is no panacea in the world, nor a universal model for development.

—中阿要做地區(qū)和平的捍衛(wèi)者。

China and Arab countries need to defend regional peace.

——中阿要做互利合作的推動(dòng)者。

China and Arab countries need to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation.

——中阿要做文明多樣性的倡導(dǎo)者。

China and Arab countries need to advocate cultural diversity.
